At 20 weeks, Tierney was still generally having three meals a day, but on occasions, just two. She was having the same amount of food for breakfast as the adult Glens. Please see the Nutrition page for more information about raw feeding. We increased her ground chicken carcasses/wings mix to 250-300g and she was having 5 small chicken wings in the evening, making up to approximately 600g per day (maximum). |
Tierney weighed in at 22lbs (10kg) when she was 20 weeks old. |
Tierney started teething at about 16 weeks, first of all losing her top and bottom incisors. By 20 weeks, she had grown her new adult incisors and then she lost three of her canines within the space of a couple of hours, the day after these photos were taken! The last canine followed a couple of days later. As her adult canines grew, she then started losing her back teeth and, for a while, she was unable to crunch through her chicken wings because her adult incisors and canines were so much bigger than her baby back teeth and the new ones just coming through! We increased her ground chicken carcasses/wings mix and stopped giving her whole wings for a few weeks, until her back teeth were properly through. |
I had finished taking out Tierney's puppy topcoat and undercoat by the time she was 16 weeks old. I also tidied her head, ears and feathers, gently "tipping" (pulling out) the longer hairs, to neaten her outline. The pictures below, at 20 weeks, show her new coat just starting to come through and her brindling can be clearly seen in the photo of her standing. |
