OPEN DOG ~ Entries: 9 ~ Absent: 1
The entry of nine was reminiscent of the glory
years of the breed and anybody who stood there fifteen
years or so ago would have been pleased with what they
saw in the ring today. Gone is the slight flirtation
the breed had with Cairn type and with feathers to the
floor. They were all Glens. Dominating the ring still
are two dogs rapidly approaching their tenth birthdays.
One has slightly better type, one has a slightly better
head, one is better presented, one has a better rear
end. It is swings and roundabouts until they move and
then there can only be one winner. |

1st & BOB
JEONTY LITTLE SOLDIER
"Soldier"
Roughly five or so years ago he came into his own
when moving in the ring. Age has started to creep in
and minimalism could be his preferred speed but move
him into gear and he is everything, out moving the
nearly six years younger than him Best Bitch and his
own handler. Best Dog and Best of Breed.

2nd & RBD
JEONTY TINKER BOY MURPHY AT BROCKLAND
"Murphy"
About the time his brother came into his own this
dog decided movement was boring. In profile and type
he is A1. He just doesn’t want to do moving anymore.
Reserve Best Dog.

3rd
ZIPPOR DANDY'S BOY FOR BREGORREY
"Rory"
Great looking dog in profile and recently stripped
out which actually suited him as his very acceptable
topline could be seen. Well muscled behind but that
failed to translate into drive on the move.

Reserve
JEONTY MAHLUF FOR EVER
"Mahluf"
This dog has been very overweight and hairy for a
long time and had obviously had a session at Weight
Watchers. He looked so much better for it and only
just missed out in the higher placings. If it had been
an exercise regime as well he would have gone higher
still.

Very Highly Commended
BROCKLAND LAIRIG GHRU
"Brodie"
Excellent in type but has a construction fault
that leaves him unsound.

BRONYDON BARNEY MAC AT KARENSBRAE
