JUDGE'S NOTES

Thank you to all exhibitors for such an enjoyable day. My choice for Best of Breed was very hard; in the end I opted for breed type over movement, as I feel in a breed as concentrated as this one, breed type is all imprtant and my Best of Breed epitomises the Glen of Imaal Terrier to me.

POST GRADUATE DOG

1st & RBD

Ballyfoyle Ri

Wheaten dog of correct size. Good strong muzzle; well filled in under the eyes with a broad back skull. Muscular neck with good layback of shoulder and well sprung ribs. Substantial masculine dog with short, well boned front legs and a good turn of stifle. Very good. Res Best Dog.

2nd

Kirikee Just Follow Seamus

"Seamus"

Wheaten dog, again of a good size with a good strong head; strong moderate neck; the layback of shoulder not as good as the winner. Correct front with a good rear angulation. Good. In movement neither dog coped well with the hard stubble.

Jeonty Tinker Boy Murphy at Brockland

"Murphy"

Blue dog of immense presence; excellent masculine head and expression with a powerful foreface and good broad back skull. Correct neck of moderate length; well muscled; good layback of shoulder; good front and rear angulation. Excellent. Best Dog and Best of Breed.

2nd

Jeonty Mahluf For Ever

"Mahluf"

Wheaten dog from the same kennel as the winner and one I have given top honours to in the past. Correct in size. Good strong head; well defined stop; neck moderate in length and muscular. Good front and rear angulation.

3rd

Blue Warrior at Emeldir

A brindle dog of great presence. Excellent masculine head and expression. A dog that belies his veteran status. Again movement was hard to assess over the stubble.

JUNIOR BITCH

1st

Tiger Lily of Romainville

"Lily"

Bitch; excellent feminine head and expression without losing any strength. Medium size of good length. Good layback of shoulder. Good front with correct turnout of feet. Well muscled rear with good harsh double coat. Covered the ground well. At 14 months old a dog I seriously considered for RBB even in such a slow maturing breed and one I will watch with interest.
