This was really a Glen owners "day out", combining the show with other events and activities. The venue was excellent ... and within easy access of the M1. Moulsoe Millennium Hall, near Newport Pagnell, is set in its own grounds, with car park and children's play area. The hall itself is spacious and modern, with a covered patio area at the back ... great for setting up crates and tables ... and a small grassed area for the showing ring.

We arrived to the welcoming aroma of bacon butties and coffee. When everyone had settled their dogs, we all congregated in the hall to listen to Jack Chisnall (Madach) talking about diet, grooming and showing. Jack explained the principles of the BARF - (bones and raw food; biologically appropriate raw food) - way of feeding. He then went on to talk about preparing your Glen for the show ring ... and what he, as a judge, is looking for with regard to presentation, handling and ringcraft. One rather shaggy Glen became a "model" for Jack's demonstration on how to strip a Glen coat!

Following Jack's talk, four Glens were prepared for The Kennel Club Bronze Good Citizens Award with the help of Nicky Atkin, one of the Association committee members. Judge Fran Kaye put Albert, Seamus, Breege and Rory through their paces ... and passed them all! A further six Glens took the test after the show ... with five being successfully "passed out"! (Tyrone has promised to practise his "sit, stay" ... in preparation for his next attempt)!
